The Duologue series explore making images using layers of paint, playing with their technical qualities of opacity and transparency. The paintings are made on paper with watercolour using traditional methods of masking out to make drawings, which are removed to reveal previous layers.
The images have a pair of personages who seem to be conversing in some way, that's why I called them "Duologues", however they are not necessarily listening to one another, and often they are exhibiting strange behavior.

also forms and structures in the landscape such as pylons, windmills, follies - all of which are transformed by my
