For years I have taken photographs of subjects which catch my eye. They feed into the drawings and paintings I make. Often it's quicker to record this way than making a drawing, especially as the colour is so important.
Most of the images are of urban landscapes and the structures that inhabit them. Sometimes they are of odd combinations or juxtapositions of materials and objects.
Looking at these it often seems to me that I haven't made anything up at all in my pictures.
